Husavik
What to do if you have little time : Whale watching
Port city, especially known for its departures from boat to see whales, dolphins, ... Two companies offer these tours in the Bay of Husavik. The cost is around 55 euros per person (in 2011) for 3 hours by boat. Plan to be well covered, because it is cold. However, the company through which we passed provided warm combinations and a hot chocolate and donuts were offered on the return journey.
If you are not sick at sea, make a jump to another attraction of Husavik : phallological museum. A museum dedicated to the male attributes of all species, from hamster to whale. It's original, but it is not necessarily worth the visit.

Whale watching is of course something to do, but we still feel it's a "chasing the whale." There are several boats and as soon as we see something, all the boats will move from full throttle. Also it is very random. There is no guarantee of seeing whales. For our part we could see two blue whales (which is rare according to the company).
