Moremi Game Reserve - Botswana

Moremi Game Reserve is located in northwestern Botswana and southeast of the Okavango Delta. It covers an area of approximately 5,000 km². This area was declared a game reserve in 1963, making it the first protected reserve in the Delta.

Review of our stay in november 2026 :

- Negative points : not many animals (you have to look for them, probably due to the rainy season) and those we did see were shy, no large herds, lots of bush and forest which made photography difficult, we were disappointed by the landscape; we didn't really see the Okavango Delta landscape as we had imagined it (too far from the mouth of the river).

- Positive points : not many tourists, so we are often alone with the animals (this is our guide's philosophy, to go where there are no tourists), we saw our first wild dogs and saw more bat-eared foxes.

Lodging

We slept at :

Moremi Game Reserve - camp : located in the forest, it consists of a “dining room” tent, two tents for the four of us, and, slightly apart, tents for the staff. Our tents are equipped with two camp beds with warm duvets, a small bedside table, and a wardrobe with mosquito netting. At the rear, there is a shower and toilets dug into the ground. At the front, there are two camping chairs, a small table, and two “sinks.” A campfire is lit every evening for aperitifs.
