    Fallen Roof Ruin - Utah

What to do if you have little time : Fallen Roof Ruin

Fallen Roof Ruin were the first ruins we visited after the 10th trip to the American Southwest. We thought "it was not our thing the ruins" but they bluffed us and we found them beautiful. Known for their orange ceiling, they are very well preserved.

These ruins are located in the Cedar Mesa area and are submitted to a fee of $2 per person.

The trail, 2,5 miles round trip, combines small forest, sand, wash, slickrok, large grass. In 1,2 mile, we reach the ruin of Fallen Roof after a good climb. It is beautiful, the colors are incredible. 0,5 mile further is a second ruin, smaller. There, it climbs hard.

Access : from highway 261, at the GPS N37°23'47.2" W109°56'38.1", take the Cigarette Springs Road East (right from Mexican Hat). We arrive at a sign announcing that the area of Cedar Mesa is paying : $2 per person per day. We follow the Cigarette Springs for 3,5 miles before turning left on a small track and then we park in the parking lot.
