What to do if you have little time : Capela dos Ossos
Evora is located inland, in the Alentejo region. This city is best known for its Chapel of Bones (Capela dos Ossos), built inside the Sao Francisco Church. This 16th century chapel is made entirely of human bones and skulls from ancient cemeteries. At the entrance, we read "We, the bones here, wait for yours to join us". Do not miss the pretty cathedral visit and on the roof of which you can climb to have a general view of Evora. In addition, a visit to the streets is essential to discover the white houses and the Roman temple.
