According to the position of the sun, rainbows can form. The best moment for photography is anyway at sunset when the sky takes pink and orange colors. The best place for sunset is up the river on the edge the gorge, so the waterfall is on the left and the river running in front of us. Going up the river a little more, we reach Upper Palouse Falls, smaller and less interesting.

Access : from Starbuck, take WA-261 west for 12,5 miles. Then take a right on Palouse Falls Road for 2,5 miles.
