Koosah et Sahalie Falls / McKenzie River - Oregon

What to do if you have little time : Koosah Falls

Two pretty and rather large waterfalls, almost on the roadside. The McKenzie River that feeds these two waterfalls is magnificent.

A short and easy trail of 1 mile roundtrip connects the 2 waterfalls : Koosah and Sahalie Falls. In between flows the McKenzie River with its incredibly transparent waters. At midday, the falls are in full sun. For photos, it is best to avoid this time of the day. It is essential to take the path that connects these two waterfalls as it offers magnificent views over the McKenzie River.

Access : from the junction between US20  and McKenzie River Hwy126, take 126 south for 5,2 miles to reach the parking for Sahalie Falls. A second car park, closest to Koosah Falls is located 0,4 mile farther on hwy 126.

    Lodging

    We have tested :

    • Belknap Lodge campground : located on the McKenzie Highway 126, this luxury lodge has a campground. Sites are spacious enough but restrooms (showers common with the pool) should be better. Expansive rate : $41 for 1 night in june 2015.
