Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park
What to do if you have little time : Flumen Gorges
Waterfalls being numerous in the area, provide the necessary equipment: tripod, ND filter, remote and possibly anti water spray protection for the camera especially at Flumen.
In summer, the waterfalls may be dry. Spring is therefore the ideal season to visit Jura.

Beautiful and short hike (2 miles RT) which leads to a cul-de-sac in which flow several beautiful waterfalls. Our favorite place in Jura! Take care to cameras, there are splashes.
Access : from St Claude, follow the road to Geneva (D436). Then follow the municipal stadium and turn left onto the D290 and turn right after 50m on the road towards the campsite Martinet. Go to a small square with a fountain. A small street (the path Foulessard) then start from that place , continue straight and park at the pink building. Climb up the river. Please note that the end of the path is slippery.

The hike is 5,5 miles RT with an elevation of 836 feet in altitude and allows to see 7 waterfalls including the Eventail and Gour Bleu.

Nice waterfall accessible by 259 stairs ! if you want to go to the bottom (about 1,2 mile RT).

Nice waterfall appreciated for canyonning.
Access : go to Vulvoz, take road D63, follow the sign "cascade" to a small parking lot before a cottage. Follow the path to access the top of the falls (bridge). To go to the bottom, use a path on the right before the bridge (sign "propriété privée").
Cascade of Baume les Messieurs
No hike
30 minutes
Free
The waterfall, very touristy, is visible from the parking lot. However, there is a 3 miles RT path (not very interesting) starting in the village. A hundred yards back down the river, you can go see other waterfalls in "terraces" in the forest.
Access : from Baume les Messieurs, out of the village by the road D70E1 to the parking of the waterfall.
