One of our favorite sites. For those who like small waterfalls Hraunfossar is the place to be! The water is dripping from the rock down into the turquoise river . Up the river, we find the waterfall Barnafoss less pretty and more classic. In September, with the fall colors, it is even more beautiful.
Access : from Borgarnes, take Route 50 east for 20 miles, turn right onto 518 and continue on to Reykholt 13 miles to the parking lot of Hraunfossar. Access to Barnafoss is a path from the parking lot.

Former lava field now entirely covered with moss and multicolored shrubs, especially in autumn.
Access : from Hraunfossar, continue on the road 518 "Halsasveitarvegur".
Church of Veidihus
