Cathedral Gorge - Nevada
What to do if you have little time : The Caves.
Cathedral Gorge is a Nevada State Park about 20 miles from the Utah border. It is near the small town of Panaca. The main attraction of this park is the caves, very fun to visit and at the same time refreshing because the temperature in these caves is quite significantly lower than the outside.
The entrance is $ 5. If you want to camp, it's $ 15 for the camping and entrance.
Cathedral Gorge
There are several hikes in Cathedral Gorge:
- Combined Nature Trail - The Caves -Miller Point Trail - Juniper Trail : 4,1 miles roundtrip in 2:45. This hike is the one that gives the best overview of the park and especially it leads to the caves, places quite surprising. Claustrophobes abstain.
- Eagle Point Trail: 1 mile round trip, this trail leads to a viewpoint dominating the park. This is another way to see Cathedral Gorge.
Access : from Panaca, head west on Hwy 319 toward US 93. Turn north on US93 for 0.9 mile then turn left on Cathedral Gorge State Park Road until you reach the parking.
