What to do if you have little time : Burney Falls

Small State Park whose main interest is its nice waterfall : Burney Falls.

Burney Falls

Length and duration of the hike 0,6 mile one way

1 hour

This waterfall is visible from the top or bottom. During our visit in June 2010, part of the trail was closed. So we took another trail 1.2 miles long to go to the foot of the falls.

Access : from Redding, take Highway 199 northeast to Burney, then Route 89 north.

We have tested :

Shingletown - camping Koa : nice and shady campsite. The tent sites are separated by a bed of straw. The owners, Al and Jean are very welcoming.
