    • Prepare your USA roadtrip

In this page, you will find informations and advices we can give, based on our experience

Lassen Volcanic National Park - California

What to do if you have little time : Lassen

During our trip in june 2010, there still was about 2 meters high of snow and temperature was about 57° F. Road after  Bumpass Hell was closed. This trail and the one to Mill Creek Falls too.

Therefore, it's difficult to give advice because during our visit a big part of the park was closed.

Like every National Parks, a fee is required at the entrance of the park. It's 20$ per vehicle. If you have the pass "America the beautiful", access is included.

    Lodging

    We have tested :

    • Red Bluff - Cinderella Motel : cheap hotel  but we understand why : it is not very clean.
    • Shingletown - camping Koa : nice and shady campsite. The tent sites are separated by a bed of straw. The owners, Al and Jean are very welcoming.
