What to do if you have little time : The Hoover Dam

Lake Mead is an artificial lake created after the construction of the Hoover Dam on the Colorado River.

As for the Glen Canyon NRA, a contribution is requested at the entrance. It is $ 25 per vehicle. If you have the "America the beautiful" pass, access is included.

Some nice views on Route 167 and especially the Hoover Dam. Do not miss getting on the bridge, it is very impressive and 275 feet high.

The first two photos of the gallery below, show a comparison of the water level between our first trip in 2000 and our visit here in 2018.

Access : from Las Vegas, take Route 515 then 11 to the dam. For the northern part of the lake, take Lakeshore Road, then Route 167.
